16th February 2005Welcome Dr Singh!We are pleased to welcome Dr Khaimraj Singh to the practice. He is our new registrar doctor and will be with us until February 2006. He will be available for consultation between February 2005 and February 2006. Easter Opening HoursWe will be closed Good Friday, 25th March 2005 and Easter Monday, 28th March 2005. Emergency cover will be provided by Shropdoc over this period. Details are available HERE. PLEASE remember to order your prescriptions in time for the extended break and have a Happy Easter!
8th December 2004Repeat Prescription On-Line OrderingIt's Here!!!This service, and the ability to change your address and phone details as well as leave your email address are now active via On Line Services. This is a beta testing service, and the computer suppliers may have to withdraw it for periods of time with no notice but we are assured that this is unlikely. Please use it and don't forget to add your comments to the Comments Book or email them to the Webmaster so we know what you think! Christmas and New Year Opening HoursDetails for this year can be found on our Surgery Hours page. "Flu Jabs" still available - just!There is still time to get a flu jab - but its running out. If you think you would like one please make your appointment now before its to late for this season. 30th November 2004Welcome Dr Eyo!We are pleased to welcome Dr Nkoyo Eyo to the practice. She is our new registrar doctor and will be with us until February 2006. She will be available for consultation between December 2004 and February 2006. Repeat Prescription On-Line OrderingWe have been informed that (finally!) the beta testing service will be available in days. Once we have configured the service you should be able to use it for your prescriptions in the near future. Watch this space!

This should be within the next 6-8 weeks if it goes according to plan. Please watch this space! 13th August 2004Saturday Morning OpeningThe surgery, in line with other practices in Telford is now closed on Saturday mornings. 4th August 2004Goodbye!A year is such a short time. Dr Karthi who has been here a year and Dr Allen who joined us for the last 6 months have both now finished their training years as registrars and can now become General Practitioners in their own right. Congratulations and thanks for all your hard work and we wish you all the best for the future. Hello!We are pleased to welcome Dr Bala Newton to the practice for the next 6 months. He has fully qualified as a General Practitioner but has chosen to extend his experience for a further period before settling down. He will be available for consultation between August 2004 and February 2005. "Flu Jab" ReminderWe have been told that the "Flu jab" will be available from the start of October 2004. If you have diabetes, asthma, chronic bronchitis or heart disease in particular we strongly recommend that you get one as soon as they are available. 19th July 2004Drug Name Changes Again!We have made a list available of the most common drug name changes that may affect you. You can view it HERE. Hedge Cutting and our NeighborsThe practice would like to unreservedly apologize to our neighbors for the untidiness of the hedge cutting that has so far occurred. This was definitely not our intention and steps are been taken to remedy the situation. Please bear with us while we sort it out.
17th July 2004Drug Name Changes on your Prescription"The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) have announced that the changes to names of certain medicinal substances from the British Approved Name (BAN) to the recommended International Non-proprietary Name ( rINN) will be in effect from the 30th June 2004. " In other words what you see on your prescription might change but the drug is still exactly the same, only the name has changed. If you are confused or want to check your prescription further please contact the surgery. Saturday Morning OpeningIn line with government changes, access to health care on Saturday mornings will be changing. No date has yet been set but the first changes may be noticed in Late August. Once details are confirmed we will publicize the information on the website HERE.
11th June 2004"Self Check-in" has arrived!When you arrive at the surgery now you will find when you come in, near the doors on the right hand side the Self Check-in Touch Screen. This will allow you to check in and by pass any queue at the desk. You are asked whether you are male or female, your month of birth and your date of birth and that's it - your checked in! The touch screen check in system has been provided by SAVIENCE. If you have any problem using it, please contact the reception who will be happy to assist.
7th June 2004Like a phoenix rising from the ashes the website is back! Somethings old, somethings new and somethings borrowed and the hyperlinks are blue. We are very sorry for the break in service but with some of the background changes we have made it should hopefully be more reliable from now on. Watch out there's Skin Cancer aboutNow, at last we have some fine weather, please be careful and do not get sunburnt! Sunburn and prolonged sun exposure predisposes you to developing skin cancer later in life. Use high factor suncreams (greater than 15 for adults and sun block for children) and enjoy the sun without the pain! What? Who said it was going to rain......
1st June 2004The website is coming back on line now. Please bear with us while we get the pages back up and running. Changes when made have been done to keep the site more reliable and to hopefully make it easier to find the information that you want. The survey will run from 19th April to 30th June 2004. Your opinions will inform local, regional and national policy makers who make decisions about your local environment. 8th March 2004Prescription fees are due to increase on 1st April 2004 from £6.30 to £6.40 . The price of pre-payment certificates will also increase so if you need regular medication and pay for your prescriptions now is the time to see if paying in advance is appropriate for you. 26th February 2004 10.40hrsTypical! The engineer has been forced to cancel this afternoon at the last minute. We apologize for the inconvenience but the new date for the practice computer maintenance is Wednesday 3rd March 2004. 24th February 2004Due to urgent maintenance work on the practice computer system, medical records, prescriptions and results will be unavailable on the afternoon of Thursday 26th February 2004. If you are making an appointment to obtain results, please arrange it for a different time. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your co-operation. 28th January 2004Be a Good Neighbour! The cold weather has finally arrived. If you have elderly neighbours do check to make sure they are all right. Hypothermia still kills many older people each year - deaths that are preventable by warmth. 22nd January 2004The surgery will be CLOSED for training on Tuesday 27th January 2004 from 12.00pm This is in line with the Government's Directive to improve training within the NHS. The award demonstrates our commitment to providing a high level of service to our patients and to continually seek improvements to that service. 24th November 2003Freedom of Information As of 31st October 2003, all medical practices had to comply with the Freedom of Information Act 2000 by producing a Publication Scheme. The Scheme makes available information about the practice including the right of patients to have access to their patient records. Email News and Reminder Service Trial We are looking into providing an email reminder service for prescriptions or appointments and occasional news emails but we need your email addresses! Next time you visit the surgery let the staff know your email address and if it is on our records we will send you any news or reminder emails once we set the service up. School Football Team Woodside Junior School Football Team has successfully made it through to the first round in the schools seven-a-side tournament. The Practice has sponsored the team by providing this season’s kit. An update on the team’s progress will appear in the next issue. 3rd November 2003Opps - Not a good start! The link bars throughout the site disappeared mysteriously for a while. We appear to have sorted that out but for some other unknown reason the date in the visitors book is now showing in German! Investigations continue. A link to the Online services has been put on the very first page to by pass everything else so that you can still book or cancel your appointments even if the rest of the site ceases to work. Sorry for the inconvenience. 28th October 2003We have activated the online booking system. If you wish to register, you will need to ask at the reception desk or your doctor for your PIN number so you can activate your access. For security reasons this stage must be done in person. You can then go to Online services and register for access. Pneumonia vaccinations are back in stock for those who need them and there are still Flu vaccinations available. Book yours now! 23rd October 2003Online booking is nearly here! The software has just been installed and we just need to train the staff and configure the system before we go live. This should be very soon now. Keep watching! Apologies to those who require a pneumonia vaccination but are having to wait due to no stock.
