Specialist Services

The Primary Health Care Team provides the following specialist services:

Asthma Clinic - Please ask for an appointment with the Asthma nurse at the surgery.

Wart and Verruca Clinic - Please ask for an appointment at this clinic where the doctor will see you and can freeze warts and verrucas.

Child Immunisation Clinic - This is run by the Health Visitors at the surgery. Appointments can be made at reception.

Antenatal Clinic - The doctors and midwives share the your care. The midwife runs a clinic at the surgery with appointments on a Wednesday and Friday afternoon.

 

Help 2 Quit Stop Smoking Clinic - This is run by the Health Visitors at the surgery.
You will need an appointment. Prescriptions will be arranged at this clinic for
medication to assist in stopping smoking.

Child Health Surveillance - This clinic is run by the doctor and Health visitor at the surgery. Normally for your babies 8-week check and first immunisations you will be sent for. If you do not get an appointment please contact the surgery.

Contraception - The nurses and doctors provide the full range of choices. This includes coils, contraceptive injections and contraceptive pills.

Diabetes - This is undertaken by the doctors and nurses at the surgery. You will normally be given an appointment and blood test forms when you find out you are diabetic. At each appointment you will be given your next clinic appointment.

Blood Tests - These are undertaken by a phlebotomist, a person who is available on Wednesday morning by appointment at the surgery. You will need your blood form or the test cannot be done.

Clinical Psychologist - You will need to be referred by your doctor for counselling. You will be seen at the surgery.

Dietician - The dietician will see people with medical problems who require a specialist diet such as diabetics or those with high cholesterol. You will need to be referred by the nurse or doctor and will be given an appointment at the surgery.

Physiotherapist - You will need to be referred by your doctor. This service is provided at the Maddocks Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic and you will be sent an appointment.

Chiropodist - You will need to be referred by the doctor or nurse. This service is for all ages and is provided at the surgery.

Cervical Smears - These are normally taken by our Nurses. Please ask for an appointment at reception - but please tell the receptionist what the appointment is for so she can book you a longer appointment slot.
